Kaitlyn Maher has talent.  And get this, she is only 4 years old.  She auditioned for America’s Got Talent and I think that David Hasselhoff actually sobered up while listening to her perform.

She has the prettiest little eyes.  And a great stage personality.  When asked if she was from “New York,” she answered, “I am from America!”

Kaitlyn started singing when she was just one years old. Her mother and father and a baby sibling stood backstage with Jerry Springer. My only concern for her is what will happen if she loses. How do you feel about this? Are the parents wrong for putting their child through this?

Here’s my answer and then I would like to hear from you. I think that the parents who do get their kids going early are better parents for it. For example, I have a blog and my mom is teaching me technology. I also learned how to swim and play the piano because my mom pushed me to do it instead of playing video games all day long. Look at Tiger Woods! By the time he was 21, he was set for life financially and now he plays for the love of the sport and not because he has to pay rent or buy diapers.

Then there is Venus and Serena. They grew up poor and in the hood. Their father didn’t even know how to really play tennis. But he put energy into his children and learned the sport and remained dedicated. And most importantly, he taught them how to be winners and also how to lose but to get back out there and fight!

So Hooray for Kaitlyn’s parents. We need more like them. And luckily, that’s what I got.
