2009 Fall New York Fashion Week: Barbie
The worlds of fashion and beauty are traditionally youth-obsessed, but today’s most crowded show featured a 50-year-old muse. The tents were swarming with people (including quite a few little girls) who wanted to peek at the doll’s runway show. Fashion‘s heavy hitters, including Calvin Klein and Alexander Wang, created outfits inspired by the doll. And the hair and makeup, as you’ll see, is equally dolled-up. (Full disclosure: While Barbie is a sponsor of BellaSugar during Fashion Week, I’m being honest in saying that this show seemed to be on everyone’s lips — it’s been the most fun one by far.)
