If your dog already knows the basic commands, you can advance to other ways to traing your dogs some tricks. But if all this training stuff is news to you, or if you need a quick refresher, this section brings you both up to speed. The Magic seven are foundation for all trick training. Here's the quick list.
Name: The first essential! Use your dog's name whenever you're happy or offering something positive like a treat or toy. Don't use it if your dog will be disappointed with what comes next, like isolation or medication.
Name, Let's Go: This hip command will encourage you dog to follow.
Name, Heel: This is the brother command to "Let's Go," instructing your dog to walk directly at your heel.
No Sir (or No Ma'am) Good for everythin you consider naughty, such as grabbing at unacceptables, jumping and pulling, crotch or sidewalk sniffing, and all other not-so-endearing little habbits.
Sit and Stay: Getting your dog to hold still and pay attention is and important part of trick training.
Wait and Okay. (the stand command) A sister command to "Sit-Stay," this will instruct your dog to stand still and stop momentarily at doors, curbs, and thresholds, and serve as a quick reminder that your are the leader.
Down: This command instructs your dog to lie down. A necessary position for tricks like roll over, crawl, play dead, and many others.
The Biggest motivationg factor in training is you. To be a good teacher, remember three things: consistency, clarity, and compassion. I wish you and your companion great luck and I hope this helped!
